Intermediate Pottery Wheel Class
Ready to take your pottery skills to the next level? This class is designed for students with previous experience on the pottery wheel who are looking to refine their techniques, build confidence, and explore more challenging forms.
Prerequisite: Students must have prior wheel-throwing experience and be able to center clay with ease and independently.
Throughout the course, students will focus on two main projects:
-
Teapot Making: Learn to create a functional teapot, including throwing the body, making a fitted lid, forming a spout, attaching a handle, and assembling the finished piece.
-
Throwing Larger Forms: Develop the skills to center and throw larger amounts of clay, exploring taller cylinders, larger bowls, and more substantial vessels while improving control, consistency, and technique.
Each student will be met at their own level, with guidance and encouragement to explore new possibilities and develop their personal style.
We provide everything you'll need to bring your creations to life: clay, tools, glazes, kilns to fire your work, and an experienced teacher who will guide and support you along the way.
