Youth Wheel Throwing Pottery Class (Ages 14–17)
SUMMER POTTERY FOR YOUNG CREATORS
6 Week Course • 2 Hours/Week • Thursday Mornings 10am-Noon • Small Group Class
Looking for a creative summer activity that's hands-on, screen-free, and inspiring?
This youth pottery course is designed specifically for young makers aged 14–17 who want to learn the art of pottery while exploring their creativity in a supportive and fun environment. Over six weeks, students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and create their own functional pottery pieces from clay.
Whether they're completely new to pottery or have some experience, each student will be guided at their own pace. Our small class sizes allow for plenty of individual instruction while fostering a welcoming and encouraging creative community.
Students will learn how to center clay on the wheel, create forms such as bowls, cups, and small vessels, and finish their work through trimming and glazing. Along the way they'll build confidence, patience, problem-solving skills, and creative expression—all while getting their hands dirty and having fun.
We provide all the things you'll need to make the thing: clay, tools, glazes, firing, and an experienced instructor who will guide students through every step of the process. Based on common pottery-learning experiences, a multi-week structured course gives beginners enough time to build skills and confidence while creating finished pieces they can be proud of.
